​​​​​Structure of sport within Mackay district

In 2017 Mackay District School Sport (MDSS) had an official restructure with the 10–12 years and 13–19 years committees amalgamating to become the 10–19 years committee. This committee consisting of a Chair, Vice Chair 10–12 years, Vice Chair 13–19 years, Secretary and Treasurer, are supported by a Sports Coordinator 10–12 years, Sports Coordinator 13–19 years and a Sports Administrator. Mackay District School Sport have their Sports Administrator, equipment and resources based at Beaconsfield State School which acts as a central point of call to support our coaches, managers and athletes.

The 10–19 Mackay district stretches from Pindi Pindi to the north, south to Carmila and west to Eungella. Within this area we have 12 secondary schools and 6 primary sub-districts with approximately 18,000 students eligible for selection in 25 different sporting fields. MDSS has a proud history of producing high quality athletes who represent our Capricornia region at state title trials each year. MDSS currently has a financial sponsorship partnership with Magpies Sporting Complex which subsidises and enhances the representative pathways that MDSS is able to offer our athletes. MDSS is committed to providing our athletes with opportunities to showcase their skills and support the realisation of their sporting aspirations.
